The Los Angeles Maritime Museum Research Library is home to books, photos, and archival collections that focus on the history of the Port of Los Angeles.

Subject areas include shipbuilding, fishing & canneries, labor history, commercial diving, U.S. Navy, merchant shipping, yachting, and San Pedro history.

A portion of our collection finding aids can be found on the Online Archive of California (OAC).

Research Library hours are Tue-Fri 10:00 – 4:30. Walk-ins can usually be accommodated but appointments are encouraged. Please call 310-548-7618 ext. 215.

Book borrowing privileges are limited to Museum members and volunteers.
