Annual Lego Shipbuilding Contest
The 2021 (Virtual) Lego Shipbuilding Contest
(Where the contest is virtual, but the prizes are real!)
This year our popular Lego Shipbuilding Contest is going to be held virtually!
How will this work?
Instead of visiting the museum in person, you may build a ship out of bricks you own at home. Just complete the registration form (available March 1 – April 1), email a photo of yourself next to your ship, and you will be entered to win fun prizes.
When can I register and submit my entry?
Registration opens March 1 and entries will be accepted through midnight on April 1. The form will be available here on March 1.
What if I don’t have any Legos?
No bricks? No problem! You may build a ship out of whatever materials you have at home.
How are the prizes determined?
Prizes are awarded by age group.
May I compete in both categories?
Can more than one person work on an entry?
Yes. Each person must fill out a registration form, and the model will be judged in the age category of the oldest participating in the group.
Can I enter a model assembled from a kit?
No. The judges are looking for originality.
How much does the contest cost?
The contest is free.
I have more questions – how do I get in touch?
