The "Island Clippers" were 44—foot sloops designed by Merle J. Davis and built by Fellows & Stewart.

Production of Island Clippers began in 1940, but when the United States entered World War II, Fellows & Stewart focused its efforts on military contracts rather than pleasure boats. As a result, most of the Island Clippers were built after the war ended. Several Island Clippers are still sailing today.
