Water travel is a popular form of recreation. Riverboats are designed to sail on any inland waterways. The most popular image of a riverboat is of a 19th century steamship with a large paddle and thin smokestacks, much like the Delta Queen. Today many riverboats operate like cruise ships, offering scenic cruises and onboard entertainment for vactioners.
