Collection Description:
The S.S. Shinyo Maru was a Japanese Ocean Liner built for Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line).
Background Information:
Ocean liners are passenger ships that transport people over long distances. Ocean liners were popular throughout the 19th and early 20th century until airplanes were made available for commercial use. The Titanic, Queen Mary, Lusitania, and Queen Elizabeth are some of the most well know ocean liners.
