Background Information:
Dwight describes meeting Timi Tefaoora, a Tahitian boy of fifteen, as his "ideal sailing companion". Through Sam, an interpreter who spoke perfect Tahitian, Dwight "explained all the hardships he would have to endure aboard the ship." Still, no matter how much he stressed that the voyage would be difficult, Timi was eager to join Dwight on his adventure. -From Sailing All Seas in the IDLE HOUR, p. 91.
