The CHARLES W. MORGAN Sails Again

In the summer of 2014, Mystic Seaport (the Museum of America and the Sea) took the world’s last remaining wooden whaleship, the CHARLES W. MORGAN, back to sea. Following a five-year restoration, the Charles W. Morgan sailed on her 38th Voyage to New England ports-of-call. Visiting some of the same ports frequented during her whaling days, the MORGAN now raises awareness of America’s maritime heritage and calls attention to issues of ocean sustainability and conservation. . Explore the Museum’s new exhibition “The Charles W Morgan Sails Again” and learn more about this unprecedented voyage and national treasure.

The exhibit ran from February 13, – April 5, 2015, and is made possible by the Friends of the LA Maritime Museum and Mystic Seaport.
