The Brass Room is used for museum programs, lectures, and special events. The walls are decorated with builder's plaques, life rings, and photographs of ships which were scrapped at National Metal and Steel, in the Port of Los Angeles. The Brass Room is normally closed to the public, but use of the room may be arranged with the approval of the Museum Director at 310-548-7618.

The Los Angeles Maritime Museum is a facility of the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks.
