American Merchant Marine Veterans Memorial
An organization dedicated to honoring the service of American Merchant Mariners, AMMVM is currently planning the construction of the first National Merchant Marine Memorial Wall of Honor adjacent to the existing memorial which stands in front of the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. Coastal Marine Archaeology Resources
CMAR is dedicated to underwater archaeology and technology. Its members assist the National Park service to order to locate, inventory, and evaluate underwater cultural resources. For more information visit http://www.cmarhomepage.com.

United Radio Amateur Club (URAC)
K6AA is the amateur radio station of the United Radio Amateur Club, operating at the Los Angeles Maritime Museum since 1988. The Club holds regular meetings at the museum on the third Friday of most months. Since 1927, URAC has supported the community by providing communications for emergencies, disasters, parades, and other events. Los Angeles Maritime Museum Research Society
The Los Angeles Maritime Museum Research Society holds quarterly meetings of amateur and professional historians who share maritime resources and information, and encourage scholarship and research. Contact the museum at (310) 548-7618.

International Guild of Knot Tyers, Pacific Americas Branch
The Guild's objectives are:

  • To promote the art, craft and science of knotting, its study and practice.
  • To undertake research into all aspects of knotting.
  • To establish an authoritative body for consulting purposes.
